Description:
The Symptom Checklist-90-R (SCL-90-R) is a revised and long form of the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) by Leonard Derogatis in 1975. It is one of the most widely used measures of multiple aspects of psychological distress in clinical practice and research. SCL-90-R includes 90 item rated on 5-point scale, ranging from 0= not at all, to 4= extremely. SCL-90-R measures nine primary distress dimensions: Somatization; obsessive compulsive; interpersonal sensitivity; depression; anxiety; hostility; phobic anxiety; paranoid ideation; and psychoticism. Additionally, three global indices of distress (global severity index, positive symptom distress index, positive symptonm total) could be obtained from SCL-90-R scores. The difference between Symptom Checklist–90-R (SCL-90-R) and the Brief Symptom Inventory, is that the latter contain 53 items.
