Progress towards the synthesis of an ( S )-Tylophorine analog for further functionalization and bioavailability is presented in Chapter One. The key step involved a copper (II) catalyzed enantioselective alkene carboamination. An alternative synthetic pathway where alkene hydroamination is the key step in the synthesis was also explored. The progress towards the first copper (II) catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular alkene hydroamination is presented in Chapter Two. A variety of substrates have been synthesized in good yield and selectivity.
