Study of the Jet Response and Resolution at CMS

At the large hadron collider LHC the main interaction is the proton-proton collision as well as the rich heavy ions collision. Our interest interaction is the proton-proton collision and we analyze the jets that result from that collision at center of mass energy. Our analysis are based on jet reconstruction using the algorithm on the data samples that produced on the run of the Compact Muon Solenoid detector (CMS) in 2012. using three different samples the QCD sample with pile up interaction included, QCD without counting the pile up interaction in additional to the ttbar interaction. The jet resolution and jet pT response are very important for studying the jet's characteristic in their final state and they are also important for farther analysis for masses resolution. The response and resolution are calculated using the CMS data and Monti Carlo simulation. We studied the response and resolution for the jet itself and then using two different methods of jet flavorer identification to assign the flavorer of the jets component then studied the resolution and the response of each flavorer as summarized in this thesis.
