Proceedings of the Third National Seismic Conference and Workshop on Bridges and Highways: Advances in Engineering and Technology for the Seismic Safety of Bridges in the New Millennium
Abstract
This volume contains the proceedings of the Third National Seismic Conference and Workshop on Bridges and Highways conducted in Portland, OR, April 28-May 1, 2002. Papers focus on advances in engineering and technology that provide increased seismic safety to bridges and highway systems. Topics include lessons learned from recent quakes; seismic design practices and specifications; seismic practices for transportation structures and systems; displacement based design; emerging seismic design and retrofit technologies; development and testing of the new LRFD seismic design of highway bridges; and an international forum of speakers from countries that have implemented advanced earthquake design and mitigation approaches.
