An Ultra Low Power CMOS Temperature Sensor

In this thesis, a novel architecture of a simple, low power temperature sensor with a readout circuit for thermal management of Integrated Chips is proposed. The temperature sensor is a two transistor sensor which output voltage is Complementary to Absolute Temperature(CTAT) characteristics. The readout circuit is a Successive Approximation Register Analog to Digital Converter. This design aims to achieve lower power consumption than the previously published designs. The power consumption of the entire system is 5.619nW with an error of +0.8/-0.9 °C. The circuits are designed in TSMC 65nm technology in Cadence software and computations and interpretations are done using MATLAB.
